The National United Front of Democracy Against Ditatorship (UDD) , also known as Democratic Alliance Against Ditatorship (DAAD) or Red-shirted Protesters
Notable UDD’s suporters and co-leaders include acadamics and social ativists, such as Veera Musikapong, Nattawut Saikue, Jatuporn Prompan, Weng Tohjirakarn, Charan Dithapichai and Jakrapob Penkae. It’s also believed that UDD is led and supported by Thaksin Shinawatra.

Demonstrators from UDD say Abhisit’s government took power illegitimately and want the Thai Parliament to be dissolved and the general election to be held. They also accuse the country’s elite- the military, judiciary, and other unelected officials- of undermining democracy by interfearing politics.
This political group was established in 2006 to oppose the military government installed after military coup took place on Sept 19, 2006. Many UDD members support Thaksin Shinawatra, the ex-Prime Minister deposed in 2006 coup.
