The prime minister’s spokesperson says the fugitive former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has left Dubai, after the UAE government requested that he leave the country due to his continuous phone-in attacks on the Thai government.
Spokesperson to the Democrat Party leader, Thepthai Senpong has disclosed that, according to a report by the Foreign Ministry, fugitive ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra departed Dubai of the United Arab Emirates yesterday.
The former premier was reportedly asked by the UAE government to leave Dubai, after he continued to use Dubai as base for his anti-government activities. The report revealed Thaksin was asked to never return to Dubai.
Former PM Thaksin was found to have left for Montenegro for business and health care matters.
Furthermore, Thepthai explained that the government’s plan to enforce the Internal Security Act was not driven by unreasonable decision, as it aimed to prevent any violence from occurring as that which happened during Songkran.
