Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai warned people having high fever not to join the birthday party of Mr. Thaksin for fear of the possible spread of the Influenza A (H1N1).

Mr. Witthaya suggested that the people who needed to attend the event wear face masks and tightly follow the suggested direction of the Ministry of Public Health. As for the rumored case that former prime minister Thaksin would open a Facebook account to give some advice for solving the problem of the H1N1 flu outbreak, Mr. Witthaya said it was good but noted that the operation to control the disease should be guided by physicians or experts. He explained that all operations of the Ministry to counter the flu outbreak had been suggested by physicians and that the procedures were accepted by the World Health Organization.

In regards to the fact that the Prime Minister had set a subcommittee to control the sharp spread of the disease, he clarified that it was to support the operation of the Ministry of Public Health.
