A Red Comrade Confesses Why He loves Thaksin

We love Thaksin because we love Thaksin’s money, just for now, confessed Surachai Sae-dan, a former communist fighter, the leader of the New Socialist party.

During a conference Surachai announced an embarkment on the new party on June 25, 2009. Surachai Sae-dan, in his embroidered red star on the front of the green cap, sincerely announced his unsincere wish to make use of Thaksin as a ladder to climb up to his life-long socialist dream.

Earlier when his sino-brit comrade, Giles Ji Ungpakorn, a marxist anti-royalist, who committed lese majeste and fled from Thailand to UK in February 2009, had urged his extreme left comrades to form their own party, in particular for the leftist reds, so that the party can lead the class struggle apart from another red faction and the existing Thaksin’s cronyistic and nepotist Pua Thai party.

“Thaksin’s wealth is the only dream comes true for the leftist reds. His wealth have resurrected the disbanded political parties over and over, no matter what they are named. After they can jointly bring down the current strong feudalism, then the socialist party can turn back to go after Thaksin, the capitalist, as it will be easier for the currently broke and unwealthy leftists”, admitted Surachai.

Surachai has been one of the frontline knights of Thaksin’s red-shirt army. He led the red mob with a former pop singer, Arisman Pongruangrong to raid on the ASEAN summit in Pattaya on April 11, 2009.

Though at the end of Surachai’s sincere speech, some red comrades protested his frank openess and Surachai turned a bit shy, there is no need to decline such statement. Thaksin is not that daft, dear comrades. Already, after Samak in 2008 failed to pave the way for a smooth Thaksin’s amnesty, and Newin’s faction broke away, Thaksin relies more on his close relatives to lead Pua Thai party. Thaksin is more selective so much that the existing Pua Thai party remains, for several months and still out of its official head, just to wait for one of Thaksin’s relative to step forward into the seat.

Surachai and his marxist comrades still have to learn how tough it is to trade with this corrupt capitalist Thaksin, if they would think Thaksin is mere an easy ladder. Both sides have to make sure they watch over their own backs, not to be stabbed by others.
